The Bible – We believe the Bible is God’s Word, both Old and New Testaments. It was written by men, verbally inspired of God, in whole and in part, and is the supreme and final authority in faith and life. It is without error in the original manuscripts. Every passage should be read in light of its historical background and literary genre. The Holy Spirit allows men to understand what is written and how we should respond in light of its truth.

(Psalm 119:160; Matthew 4:4; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-20; Hebrews 4:12)

God – We believe in one God, who is perfect, eternal, and never changes. He is one essence while existing in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

(Deuteronomy 4:39, 6:4; Matthew 28:19; John 1:1, 6:27; Acts 5:3-4; Titus 2:12)

Father – We believe in the Eternal Father who rules all creation with perfect love, kindness and justice. He reigns in and through all things. He reveals Himself in providential care, absolute wisdom, and complete truth. He is majestic in His holiness, which transcends all of His divine attributes. He is faithful to His Word to perform all that is written in it. He graciously involves Himself in the affairs of men, hears and answers prayer, and saves from sin and death everyone who comes to Him through His son, Jesus Christ.

(2 Chronicles 29:11; Psalm 103:19; Matthew 6:9; John 5:19-24; Ephesians 1:2-6)

Son – We believe the Son, the Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. Being God, He for a time, emptied himself of His glory, while he surrendered nothing of His deity during His earthly life. He was fully man and fully God as He dwelt here on earth. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and gave Himself as a substitutionary sacrifice by shedding His blood and dying on the cross. We believe in His bodily resurrection from the dead, His physical ascension to Heaven, and His visible return to earth.

(John 1:14-18; Acts 1:11; Romans 3:24-26; 1 Corinthians 15:1-8; Philippians 2:5-8; Colossians 2:9; Hebrews 2:17-18; Revelation 20:11-15)

Holy Spirit – We believe the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God. He was active in the creation of all things. He inspired the writing of the Bible. He convicts all mankind of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He lives within those who believe to help them understand the Bible, to cultivate godly character, comfort believers, give spiritual gifts by which men serve God, and seal the believer unto the day of final redemption. This indwelling occurs the moment a person receives Jesus Christ as his Savior. At the same time the Holy Spirit baptizes the new believer into the body of Christ, the church, and empowers him in all areas of life.

(John 3:1-8, 15-16, 16:4-15; Romans 12:4-8; 1 Corinthians 12; Galatians 5:16-25; Ephesians 1:13-14, 5:18-21)

Man – We believe man was created in the image of God to enjoy relationship with Him and to fulfill God’s will on earth. Man is spiritually lost and completely sinful. Man sinned by voluntary act of personal disobedience toward God. As a result, all men are spiritually dead and physical death is certain. The fall of man was a non-repeatable historical fact, the effects of which are transmitted to all men (of an accountable age), who are born with a sinful nature and who sin habitually in thought, word, and deed.

(Genesis 1:26-27, 2:7, 3:3-4; Romans 1:18-32, 3:23; Ephesians 2:1-3)

Salvation – We believe salvation is the redemption of man, costly to Jesus Christ by death but freely offered to all who receive Him as Savior and Lord. In Christ, man is re-created spiritually, restoring his relationship with God, formed through his lifetime and made complete in his death. It is by his grace through faith that a man is regenerated by and baptized through the Holy Spirit. Christ died for our sins as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and through his death and resurrection alone are we made right with God. In this, a man becomes a child of God and a member of one true Church; the body of Christ. The result of this salvation is righteous living and good works as the believer yields their life to the control of the Holy Spirit. The consummation of this salvation is glorification; the final blessed and eternal life of the redeemed. We believe salvation brings eternal security to the believer and the true child of God will never be taken from the hand of the Father. There will be a bodily resurrection of believers; an eternal inheritance of the redeemed and eternal punishment of the lost.

(John 1:12, 3:15, 3:36,5:24, 10:28-29, 14:6; Acts 4:12; Romans 3:21-26, 5:8, 8:35-38; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Galatians 3:26; Ephesians 1:7, 1:13-14, 2:8-10, 4:30; Titus 3:4-7; Hebrews 10:12-13; 1 John 5:11-13; Revelation 20:11-15)

The Church – We believe all of God’s children, those recreated by the Holy Spirit, belong to the one true universal church. Christians are directed by the Scriptures to associate themselves in local, visible churches. The local church is the only scriptural representation of Christ’s invisible church. The local church is autonomous in its government and recognizes its own members for the biblical position of Pastor.

We believe in the two scriptural ordinances of the church; Baptism and the Lord’s Supper (Communion). Both ordinances should be observed by believers as needed. Baptism is a one-time action symbolizing their death, burial and resurrection with Christ. The Lord’s Supper (Communion) is celebrated to proclaim His death until His return.

We believe it is the purpose, calling, privilege and priority of every believer and local church to glorify God by responding as active participants in the mission and calling of Jesus Christ. The primary focus and priority of this call is centered on efforts that establish, strengthen, and reproduce Christ-centered churches, which will plant more churches for future generations and to build God’s kingdom.

(Matthew 16:13-28, 22:36-40, 28:18-20; Acts 1:8, 2:41-47, 4:1-16, 8:36-39, 10:43-48; 1 Corinthians 11:23-33; Ephesians 2:19-22, 4:11-13; Hebrews 10:23-25; 1 Peter 5:1-3)

The Future – We believe the Bible teaches the imminent, personal return of Jesus Christ. His return will occur in a bodily, visible manner. The hope of His return has a vital bearing on the personal life, service and mission of the believer.

(Matthew 24-25; John 14:1-3; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Corinthians 15:20-28; 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17; Revelation 20:1-4)
